« Walter »est né de la réflexion d’un produit composé de bouteilles d’eau recyclées (Waterbottles). Lampe à poser de formes, tailles, couleurs, intensités lumineusesvariables.

En quoi est-il innovant ?
Le design de cettelampe est déterminé par la forme des bouteilles actuelles. C’est donc à la foisun produit que l’on connaît bien, qui fait partie de notre quotidien et qui estconnu et reconnaissable au premier coup d’œil. Le socle constitué de bouteillesd’eau recyclés donne à ce produit toute sa dimension. Il est donc« cohérent », à la fois visuellement mais aussi par les matériaux quile composent. Sa touche d’originalité tient au fait que chacun peut« créer » la forme et la couleur de lampe qu’il désire au gré de sonhumeur ou de l’ambiance qu’il désire donner à son intérieur. Des déclinaisonspeuvent êtres également envisagées : suspensions, accroches murales, etc.

Quel rôle pourrait-il jouerdans la société de demain ? Quel est son impact sociétal ?
Evidemment ilpermettrait de recycler une partie des déchets de bouteilles en plastique tout enimpliquant le consommateur en lui permettant de créer une lampe à poser grâce àses bouteilles vides. Cela peut s’apparenter à un produit« pédagogique » qui pousse à la réflexion sur l’importance du tri etses nouvelles utilisations une fois le produit recyclé.

Pourquoiavez-vous initié ce projet et pourquoi vous êtes-vous investis dans ce projet ?
Dans mon activité jetravaille autour du design dit de « récupération ». Récupérer,détourner et associer sont mes marques de fabrique. Aujourd’hui ma réflexion seporte sur la création d’un objet réalisé presque dans sa totalité à partir dematières recyclés. La bouteille plastique est ce matériaux par excellence. Enimpliquant le consommateur dans cette démarche il me paraît évident que ceproduit peut avoir un impact quand au regard que l’on porte sur le tri maisaussi dans la façon de l’appréhender et s’en amuser.

· Quelle est la méthode de production utilisée ?
Les bouteilles sontenvoyées dans un centre de tri où elles sont triées et ainsi séparés par type deplastique. Conditionnées en balles, elles sont dirigées vers les différentesusines de recyclage où, broyées, elles sont mélangées à de la matière plastique vierge.Par la suite le plastique est transformé par fusion pour être mouléet devient ainsi un nouvel objet.

· Quel est le temps de réalisation?
A définir.

· L'objet peut il être reproduit de façon industrielle?
Oui et c’est même l’idée majeure de ceproduit. Il est composé de bouteilles plastiques recyclées. La bouteille est leproduit qui se recycle le mieux.

· Cette création est-elle reproductible suivant leprincipe "do it yourself"?
Le choix de la bouteille, sa taille, sacouleur, la forme de l’ampoule sont autant de possibilités qui donnent à ceproduit un principe de « do it yourself ».

 Description of the project:
"Walter" arose from the reflection of a product consisted of bottles of water recycled (Water bottles). Lamp to be put of forms, sizes, colors, variable luminous intensities.

In what is he(it) innovative?
The design of this lamp is determined by the shape of the current bottles. It is thus at the same time the product which we know well, which makes left our everyday life and who is known and recognizable in the first blow of eye. The base constituted by bottles of water recycled gives to this product all its dimension(size). It is thus "coherent", at the same time visually but also by the materials who composes it. His touch of originality holds the fact that each can "create" the shape and the color of lamp which he wishes according to his humor or the atmosphere that he desire to give to its inside. Declensions can also envisaged beings: suspensions, wall catchers, etc.

What role could he play in the societ of tomorrow? What is its societal impact?
Obviously he would allow to recycle a part of the waste of plastic bottles while involving the consumer by allowing him to create a lamp to be put thanks to his empty bottles. It can be similar to a "educational" product which pushes on second thought on the importance of the sorting and its new uses once the recycled product.

Why did you introduce this project and why did you put a lot into this project?
In my activity I work around the design said about "recovery"("recycling"). Recover, to divert(hijack) and to associate are my trademarks. Today my reflection concerns to the creation of an object realized almost in its totality from materials recycled. The plastic bottle is it materials par excellence. By involving the consumer in this approach it seems to me obvious that this product can have an impact when in the glance which we concern the sorting but also in the way of arresting it and of having fun with it.

· What is the used method of production?
Bottles are sent to a sorting office where they are sorted out and so separated by type(chap) of plastic(plastic art). Conditioned in balls, they are managed towards the various recycling plants where, crushed and mixed in the virgin plastic. Afterward the plastic is transformed by the fusion to be molded and so becomes a new object.

· What is the time(weather) of realization?
To define.

· The object can it be reproduced in a industrial way?
Yes and it is even the major idea of this product. It consists of recycled plastic bottles. The bottle is the product which retrains best.

· Is this creation reproducible according to the principle " doh it yourself "?
The choice of the bottle, its size, its color, the shape of the bulb are so many possibilities which give to this product a principle of " do it yourself ".
